Morley's Final Catalogue: In unfailing attendance on urban Lombardy-poplars in Sudbury, Ipswich, Southwold, Beccles and Gorleston; but seen in the country only at Playford (Greene, Ent. Wk. Intell. i, 1856, 164), and Hemley in 1903 (Wlr). No western observations.

Recent Suffolk Status: Common.

Life history: Single-brooded. Occasional larval records. The larvae rest curled up, similar to the Miller.

Identification: Sycamore is larger and lacks the pale area around the spot on the forewing. Knor Grass has the obvious white spot in the corner of the forewing.

Habitat: Woodlands, carr woodland, parkland, gardens.

Recorded in 54 (93%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1903.
Last Recorded in 2024.
